About Leticia
Leticia completed an Assistant Nursing – Aged Care and Disability Certificate III in 2013 and a Bachelor of Business degree with majors in Management and Entrepreneurship in 2017 at Griffith University – Gold Coast. This degree adds to her background in Social Communication completed in Brazil and her extended experience in client’s relationship and practical capabilities and skills with day-to-day activities.
Leticia started to work with NDIS clients as an Allied Health Assistant over the past 2 years and she believes her biggest strength as an allied health assistant (support worker) is her ability to connect with her clients providing a great customer experience while expanding her clients’ social abilities and day to day skills.
“I have met wonderful clients who taught me as much as I taught them. I believe the delivery of NDIS support work to my clients is like any other client relationship where the crucial keys are trust and commitment. I love building genuine client relationships, as well as delivering the best value to my clients which to me are the right to make independent choices, and sustain independent living; while building practical day to day skills that we require to navigate life.”
Under Physiotherapy delegation, Leticia can help her clients to build skills such as
- Finding and keeping a job
- Improved daily living skills / therapy support such as organization and coordination skills, social skills, physical activities, budgeting/shopping, cooking and increased participation in the community.
- Increase social participation: assistance in coordination or managing life stages and transitions. Social and recreational participation and independence in daily personal activities.
In her spare time Leticia likes to spend time with her family and her 2-year-old son Ethan.
“Being a mum gave me a fresh new perspective about people and I absolutely love seeing my son learning new things and his joy with the simple things in life”.
Leticia had to learn herself how to live with a genetic condition which gave her many personal insights into living with a physical challenge which effects her every day life.
“I have learnt to work with and accept my physical weaknesses while improving and building strength and capacity where it is possible to me. This varies from person to person and that is the beauty about us as humans. We are all different, we all have strengths and weaknesses and to me that is the beauty in all.”
Leticia loves physical activities such as running, bike riding and whole-body functional exercises, and also has a passion for healthy eating, nutrition and beauty tricks.
